This is the view from road up to Makawao, looking down to the ocean. And yes the ocean really does look like that. That's why there is no other place like Maui for painting ocean and sunsets. The only thing is that you have to be prepared to dash in and out between torrential downpours to paint as upcountry gets a lot of rain.
